Congrats to our 3rd Scholarship Awardee!

JIO is proud to introduce to you Miss Caralese Burrowes who has recently been awarded the “JIO Scholarship Grant 3rd Staging (2019 -2023)”.

Miss Burrowes graduate of The Cedar Grove Academy in Portmore, St. Catherine, was the successful applicant for the scholarship Grant, which entailed a written test and an interview by a jury composed of representatives of JIO and Shortwood Teachers’ College. In addition to satisfying the scholarship requirements, she also exhibited strong confidence and an obvious passion for languages.

Graduates from secondary schools in the parishes of Clarendon and St. Catherine were invited to apply for the Scholarship grant valued at USD 6,000 supplemented with an additional 1500 Euros towards the cost for the immersion programme applicable to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Modern Languages offered at the Shortwood Teacher's College.

JIO, the operators of Highway 2000 East-West would like to thank all the partners for enabling our continued social investment in the communities where we operate our motorways. JIO continues with its partnership with the Shortwood Teacher's College through the sponsorship of another full Scholarship for a language studies student majoring in the French at the college. See more highlights of the event here.

Again, we wish to congratulate Caralese Burrowes and wish her all the best in the programme, or more befitting the language of the scholarship study, “Bonne chance!”
